The REC N-Peak solar panel features n-type solar cells for excellent performance and no light induced degradation.

Technology

N-Type mono crystalline cells.

The negatively charged treatment (doping) of the cells creates one of the most efficient crystalline cell technologies for high light absorption and efficiency. N-Type cells do not suffer from Light Induced Degradation.

 

Pert Technology

Acting like a barrier layer across the rear of the solar cell, PERT (passivated emitter rear totally diffused) helps keeps the cell at a cool operating temperature and improves overall efficiency for higher yields

Split Cell Design

REC pioneered split cell technology which has now been copied by almost all manufacturers. This enables the top and bottom half of the panel to work independently greatly boosting performance in partly shaded conditions.

Super strong frame

The addition of two support bars across the rear of the panel increase strength and robustness protecting it from deformation and increasing long-term reliability.

Zero LID

When a panel is first exposed to sunlight, standard panels suffer from a loss of power generation capacity, known as Light Induced Degradation (LID). This is caused by a combination of boron and oxygen inside a solar cell and causes a permanent drop in a standard panel’s maximum power. The n-type technology used in REC’s N-Peak cells stops these two elements from mixing at any level eliminating LID. 

Improved shade tolerance

This system features REC’s award winning “Twin Panel” design, which means if the bottom half of the solar power panel is shaded, the top half of the panel will continue to generate full power.
